About

Dean Farrell spent the majority of his childhood playtime in a rural country community performing acrobatics and twisting his body into various positions not only for fun, but because it made him feel good mentally and physically.  It was no surprise that he was instantly hooked when he discovered the healing and therapeutic benefits of yoga.  Always fascinated with the human body, Dean studied paramedicine and graduated in 1995. His studies have been both scientific and spiritual.

With over 20 years of mind/body studies and experience combined, Dean’s teaching style has a simple and understandable approach with encouragement to honor the body while exploring the full potential.

Breaking the stereotypical thought of a yoga practitioner, Dean has branched out to a diverse community of students that would have never thought they would practice yoga.  His down to earth attitude and playful sense of humor always makes students feel comfortable and welcome.  Dean speaks openly about his past battles with addiction and how the ancient practice of yoga truly saved his life.  This fuels his passion to teach and to be of service to others.

In 2008, Dean arrived in Milwaukee, WI.  His teaching style was new and refreshing.  Dean’s classes were packed and students wanted more.  In 2011, Dean founded Yoga Ward so he could offer more classes to his loyal students.  Dean had one goal in mind and that was to provide a non-intimidating and supportive environment for people of all backgrounds and levels to explore mind, body and soul.  Yoga Ward became a huge success with a diverse group of students.

In 2015, Dean sold Yoga Ward to a former yoga teacher training graduate.  Dean now resides in Chicago and travels domestically and abroad, offering classes, workshops and yoga teacher trainings.  Dean is humbly proud that he has trained some of the most popular and sought out teachers in the Midwest through his Yoga Alliance registered 200 hour yoga teacher trainings.
